FICM Voltage Alert
#16
Well, as I was driving to lunch I noticed that the white smoke seemed less at idle. As soon as I started driving I noticed that the smoke was greyish black and it seemed to miss a little bit. I drove it straight to my mechanic and he told me exactly what you guys have. Most likely an injector failing.
He wasn't too keen on someone messing with the FICM. He said he would look at it and let me know...apparently he hasn't heard of Ed...lol
I will let you know what he finds tomorrow.

Well, I took it to my mechanic. His son (also a mechanic) is a 6.0 guy.
Diagnosed it as a bad #7 injector. He tested the wiring harness and singled out the injector as the point of failure and not the wiring.
I had him replace all four injectors and glow plugs in that side of the engine while he was in there.
He actually offered to buy the truck from me. He said its the smoothest 6.0 he's ever driven...we'll see.
