I have noticed air from the blower comes out the vents but will not come out the defroster windshield vents. I dropped the glovebox and see where a vacuum cylender has linkage that has come loose from a lever. When I rotate this plastic lever, the air changes from the dash vents to the windshield defroster vents. This cylender and plastic lever are near the center of the vehicle dash (below the radio). Does anyone have a picture or can describe what this union is supposed to look like. Does not appear to be broken.

If you have trouble with access and dont want to disassemble any further, just tie wire or put something in the door to pull it open or hold in mid stroke. NOthing wrong with having some air to defrost and some to vents or floor all the time.
