Get a ladder and some plywood. I used foam blocks in place of the plywood.
You need to be able to climb on top of the engine and reach around the turbo and the down pipe with the engine running.
With the engine cold set up the ladder and your wood. Start her up climb on top of the engine and reach around the turbo and that down pipe. If it's leaking you should be able to feel it. You need to do this before it gets to hot to feel around there. It took me five tries to get the turbo installed correctly.
