The truck sometimes has a problem with the wipers. Most of the time they work, but sometimes they won't do anything. Sometimes the wipers will stop in the vertical position and will stay there for a few minutes. I've noticed that when the wipers don't work, the windshield washer doesn't spray either.
So before I get the test light and volt meter out.....do you think it's a relay or the wiper motor itself? If it is a relay, can you point me to which one it would be so that I could swap it out with another one?
TIA.
I would suggest going a little farther down the form to the 1980-96 section. They are more informed with these years of truck and can provide more detailed information.
I would say its probably the motor from your description.
The washer spray doesnt have anything to do with it thought. That would either be the motor for it, or the relay is bad. Its also possible that the line is pluged, can you hear the motor run when you push the spray button.

Hmmm.
When the wiper is working, it will spray fluid on the windshield. When the motor does not turn the wipers, the sprayer does nothing. I've tried it several times.
Oh, well. Time to troubleshoot.
likley its the lever on your column that is bad. My wipers come on ever now and again by themselves becasue the contacts are worn out in column selector.
The only part that gets me is that you said they stop in the middle of the window. I dont really get how that could come from the selector, thats why i said it must be the motor.
If you turn your wipers on, and then off real quickly, they still fully cycle, this leads me to belive that a connection interuption in the selector would not affect this. But its hard to say.
