How about the clutch and pressure plate? Then there is the resurfacing the fly wheel.

Maybe some one else will pipe up. I am not a expert here, but it would seem that there is more to it than what you have listed on replacement/repair.

Anybody else?

well i guess when the release bearing went, it took out my fork. (theres a real nice homemade notch ground into it) and simultaneously rubbing the pressure plate... im not sure if i should file them down or is it shot?

I dont know either. Maybe someoen else will pop in here and give up a little advice.

Is there a new improved throwout for this model? Maybe I am thinking of a new model. I remember some sort of improvement but maybe its a 99 or later. not sure.

Ive seen the fingers look worse I have not reall seen them wear in one spot more that the other as your looks to have been doing. Maybe the fork helped it to look that way

I would call valair and email those pics to them and see what they say.

The problem I see is that the fingers will be ridding on each out side edge of the bearing.
If you put a straight edge on one of the fingers how much of a gap do you have?

If I were you, I would just order a new clutch kit from Valair, have the flywheel resurfaced, and get a new clutch fork. You already dropped the transmission, you might as well get new parts in there so that you know everything's good.

Mike I don't have a measurement for you...deep enough to worry
Joseph, normally I would err on the side of caution and put a new one in but... and I say BUT- this clutch only has 45000 miles on it

I see that you have waaaaaaaay more mechanical experience than I do. Please ignore what I said. I didn't notice that before.

See, dropping the transmission is probably no big deal for you. For me, if I'm dropping the transmission, I'm doing everything while I'm in there.
