I have a 99 expedition, 5.4 engine, 4X4. I would like to get a tuner to help improve the performance when towing our trailer. Which one would you recommend? Whats been your experience with one you bought? Did you notice an improvement in hp and torque? I,'m no mechanic but can it be installed by a novice? Any info you can give would be appreciated. An what do they cost. Thanks Bob
tuners are one thing to give you the big boost of extra power but u gotta really pay attention to details. some need an aftermarket free flowing intake like a cold air intake and some need a pretty good flowing exhaust. you definitely want a tuner not a chip. now for the 5.4 ive never really looked at uners your best bet is to shop around. i know sct, diablo, and hypermax make good tuners. stay away from jet cause all they do is tax your fuel system and cops
i should add that maybe u should try putting a k&n drop in filter or a cold air kit and an exhaust system, thatll definitely boost your numbers and wake up a little hidden power
I have a 2000 Eddie Bauer and purchased a SCT from 5 Star in SC and can really tell the diff when pulling our camping trailer. Give them a call and they will work with you
