Transmission ?? New guy
I am new to ford trucks been a VW guy for years and need a change of direction. My question is I looked at a 64 F100 3 speed with a 223 straight six in it today. What is a good automatic transmission to put in this unit and will it be a straight across swap or is there alot of fabrication invloved

i'm no expert here, but i hate to see you not get an answer over the weekend.
tranny options are the WORST part of being a Ford guy, unless you're running a small-block.
here's a list of all the different bolt patterns:

unless you can drop the $$ for an adaptor, you're probably stuck with a Ford-o-matic, or something along those lines.
