Question Hub Problems

http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...09372995_n.jpg

As you will see in the above photo . The wheel bearing nut on the spindle is unlike anything I have ever seen before, has anyone else come across anything like this?

This is on a 1997 F-250 Heavy Duty . 7.5 Liter Gas Engine , 4x4 , manual locking hubs.

I have that tool , It doesn't work fit. The nut doesn't have any external grooves for the socket to fit on.

Your pic really sucks and looks like someone was hacking at it with a hammer and punch however from what I can see looks like you need this style,

OTC , 519097-4 Wheel Bearing Locknut Socket T95T-1197-B - 2-3/4" Rounded Hex

don't forget remove locking wedge first before attempting turn it.

I have the wedge out now . And I thought the same thing , I just bought it and Its obvious that it needs bearings. I have the 2 1/2 inch , Ill go and get the 2 3/4 in the morning and let you know how I made out . That looks like it just might work.

Ok good, it looked like you did remove it but really couldn't tell for sure if it was still there or not in the picture.
Didn't want you to unscrew the nut only to find out it was there after the fact.

Oh and yea doesn't matter what size you have, how many different styles a guy owns, its never the one needed for the job at hand!
