I did call them. I have found a way to get their website to work for my excursion but have been unable to repeat it.

They have about 4 options with different flow rates.

So I got the fuel pump but it is completely the wrong size. So off to O'reilly to get one instead.

Note all of the instructions for replacing the fuel pump have been to remove the hfcm completely. This also required unbolting the driveshaft to get it out (4 8mm bolts)

I think it would be much simpler (hindsight being 20/20) to just remove the 3 8mm bolts on the opposite side where the filter goes in and pull the whole thing out. Not entirely sure that there would be room but it should work.

Instructions:

Remove the filter cap and filter from the housing.
On the opposite side there are three 5/16" screws that holds the fuel pump in place.
Remove the screws and reach into where the fuel filter was and press the fuel pump out. (Pay Attention to how the pump comes out)
Use clean oil or somthing similar to lube the o-rings and slide the fuel pump in place the same way the old one came out.
Plug your harness in and put the fuel filter and cap back on and you are ready to go.

Always sounds simple but do what you have to do. Either in the truck or on the bench.

Fuel filters and fuel pump replaced. Still reads 40 psi!!!!! In fact I would say it dips to 30 psi easier now than before I replaced everything. !@#$

Anybody have any other ideas. I'm going to call the gauge people and see if perhaps I installed it incorrectly.

Can you get a manual gauge on it at the test port plug?

Fuel pressure regalator seat leaking or injector o rings leaking in crankcase, hi oil & smells like diesel. all I can think of, now it's becoming bizarre.

I called the gauge people and got what the ohm's on the sending unit should be. They said 43.5psi 64ohm. I'm getting 58ohm's at 40psi so that seems pretty close. I did install the blue spring upgrade. Could I have done it incorrectly?

OK here is an idea. When I took the hfcm out and removed the fuel filter it was nasty dirty before the filter. Looked like a bunch of fine sand. Could there be a clog on the prefilter? Is there a prefilter in the tank? Can I blow compressed air back down the line to clean stuff out?

At this point I would pull lines off pump & tank, blow them out, connect to pump & put tank ends into 5 gal diesel can & check primary filter, then check pressure.

Steven you can blow air back to the tank but you might try putting the tank under pressure to see if you have flow first. the feed line to the HFCM has a quik relase. If you dont have lots of flow then try blowing it back then put the tank under psi again if flow is better you better pull the tank & clean out whatever it was that pluged the pickup....Good Luck!!!

I once had a leak on my fuel line in my tank I had to drop my tank and pull the float out and fix the leak.

OK just an update. I decided to drive the EX and the Airstream like a grandma to TX and make sure not to do any WOT. Kept an eye on the fuel pressure the whole way. So in keeping with the bizarre theme of this thread it stayed at 40 psi for about 500 miles and then slowly started to increase. 50 psi then 60 psi. Then it started to jump around wildly. After getting here it would simply peg itself at 100psi. The sending unit seems to be bad so they are sending me a new one.

Fuel mileage was in the crapper so I am pretty sure I have an injector out. Probably number 4. I'll get it diagnosed monday. Fortunately i had bought that one from O'Reilly and I hear they are good about the warranty.

you might easily have an injector leaking combustion gas back into the fuel rails.

Dropped the tank. The pickup filter was clear and tank was clean.

This rubber check valve for fuel return was broken. Can this cause low fuel pressure? It will take till Wed to get this part. Hate to leave truck in pieces till then. Is it really important.

There was a lot of sediment pre-filter. Haven't blown that line out yet but hopefully that is the issue. I do find it strange that the fuel tank could be so clean and there be so much sediment in the HFCM prefilter. Wonder if the tank has been replaced before? guess there is no way of knowing.
