I have a 2009 4x4 v10 and pull a 20 ft trailer with a 8,000 lb tractor. The truck pulls it ok but I don't like the way it shifts. What I am thinking is to put a chip in. Looking at a BullyDog or 5-star. What do you all have and what does it do for you?
The truck has an automatic tran, 410 rearend, manual transfer case-gets 8-9 mpg pulling - 12 to 13 enpty.

I wouldn't recommend the Bullydog or any aftermarket tuner with canned tunes. The 5 Star tuner comes with 3 custom tunes of your choice. For towing I would get the "Tow" tune and when your empty I would get the "Performance" tune. You can choose what octane fuel you want to run with the tunes. You will notice a very nice difference in performance with either tune and the shift and TQ lockup will be much improved. For tuners you can get the SCT Livewire or the Xcal3. I always use the Xcal tuners but you may want the extra features of the Livewire.

A bit of reading in this forum shows the 5 Star tuner package to be just about the best thing going for the Ford V10's. Even more impressive the almost overwhelming suppport and recommendations Mike @ 5 Star gets by this board----the fact he's a contributor here as well seems to bolster his standing. The customer service he provides to my mind is simply amazing.
