I am considering going to Mike for a 5 Star Tuner and had some concerns/hesitations. I have a 2000 F250 V10 with 198K miles on it and no aftermarket work. Should I be worried about the truck being able to hold up or should I have any concerns? Suggestions?
Mike and Randy at 5 Star are great. Customer service is outstanding. I went with an SCT X3 Tuner, 85 & 89 Tow Tunes and a 91 Performance Tune (for the rice rockets) only because of the type of gas around here. I will tell you this, it's OK to put in a higher octane fuel than your tune but it's NOT GOOD to use a lower octane fuel than your tune. So think about what kind of fuel is in you area.
Mikes tunes are safe for a stock truck and the transmission shift points are right on the money (with an SCT). You will fall in love with your truck all over again. The best thing is if you don't like it they will fix it. They can give you HP but it's kind of on you to keep you foot out of it if you really want MPG improvement.
