Timing Chain Rattle
Has anybody had a problem with the timing chain guides or tensioners in their 2V V10? I have a very noisy rattling sound from the front of the engine in my 2002 Excursion that sounds exactly like the description I read about on the 4.0 and 4.6 forums. It begins immediately on start up and continues until I shut the truck off. I can even hear it inside the truck. The truck runs great, and except for the noise, I wouldn't know that there is a problem and my Scan Gauge is not showing any codes. I'm taking it to a dealer tomorrow and am hoping that it is something simple because it sounds like a repair to the timing chains is very expensive. Thanks.
