I'm on the rainy side, unfortunately.

And I'm pretty sure I'd be banned from D.C if I ever lived there lol.

Jim, you just found yourself in a totally anti gun whirlwind of crap in your state.CT went over the top on making gun laws that wont ever keep or deter crazy people from shooting babies at an elementary school. I saw a news clip where it looked like a revolution was about to take place at the state capitol. People in CT were not happy at all about the new gun bans there.

Bruno,
I know I'm not happy.

Connecticut was once the armory to the world.
Epicenter of gun making on this continent.
Now the workers at Colt can produce AR's but cannot own one.
Now I'm going to need a 'use permit' to purchase a brick of .22's???
WTF, Malloy and the rest of you showboating politicians?

All these B.S. laws and regulations...
Were Nancy Lanza's guns purchased illegally?
How would any new legislation have affected the December tragedy in Newtown?

A psychopathic kid slaughtered a bunch of unarmed people.
If I hear the term 'gunviolence' one more time I'm going to vent.
A gun is an inanimate object. It has no free will.
It CANNOT be 'violent'.
Place the blame where it belongs, and do something positive about mental health care in this country.

Matthew,
For someone who wants to be low key, you just tripped a bunch of keyword filters and brought yourself a lot of unwelcome attention.

I'm going to shut up now before Chris has to lock Gary's thread and move it to 'The Club'

I think I'm gonna revise mine for that very reason.

Not to shut this down 'cause I suspect that there is a strong link between owning a pickup and owning a gun, but I have some questions to this august body:
  • Does anyone know what the quality of patch panels is from Jeff' Bronco Graveyard? They have a floor panel for $35 (I was wrong, Bruno) and I'm thinking it may not be worth using the plasma cutter on Brownie for that.
  • Anyone have experience with door and window weatherstrip from JBG vs LMC?
I'm starting to order parts and want whatever input you can bring to the table. In fact, I've already ordered the Prothane master bushing kit, but forgot to see if it has the sway bar bushings - I doubt it.

I buy my patch panels from Tabco.
The floor I bought from LMC was 'tinny'.
I have door and window weatherstrip from LMC, as well as window 'runs'
Cannot compare with JBG, but they fit okay and the truck is a lot quieter and warmer with them installed.

I have some window weather stripping with the wiper from LMC. You could look for yourself as far as the quality goes. I couldn't imagine very many aftermarket companies making this. So I would think that both vendors could very well be selling the same brand Gary.

Jim , I have come to realize that nobody could possibly see a link between banning guns and crime decreasing. The parts of our country with the most restrictive gun laws have the most crime involving guns. So anytime I see politicians pushing to pass more restrictive laws against guns it tells me they just want to dis arm people . They see the same results that myself and the rest of nation sees. So they are just BS'ing people into giving up their rights.

Jim - That's sorta what I was worried about on the patch panels - tinny. I'll took a look at Tabco's. Thanks.

Jim/Bruno - Sounds like LMC's weatherstrip is acceptable. Thanks.

And that is the truth. You cannot argue with results.

Talked with Marshall this morning. He's coming over on Wednesday to cut a piece out of the wheel well on Dad's bed so he can graft it into the one he's working on. And, he's going to grind on the corners on the cab to see how much rust there is.

In addition, we talked about the rotisserie. He's going to have to see it to determine how much space he needs, which we can do Wednesday. And, he's concerned about the strength of my welds and asked that I put some gussets on. So, that's what I spent my day doing.

The first picture shows the work on the L-brackets, which was really Marshall's main concern. While it significantly strengthened the joint it means I can't use the bottom hole - although I doubt I would have needed it anyway.

The second picture shows the work on the pivot. Note the hole through both braces. That's for the hydraulic ram, which is shown in the third picture. However, I don't have the bottom bracket made yet, which is what the ram will sit on. And Bruno's idea was to make that bracket adjustable for height since the overall range of the holes on the upright is larger than the extension of the ram.

I left all of my stuff out there

The Bronco did its keep running stuff again

I like the gussets on the "L" brackets. That is as non intrusive as they can be.
