Me? Keep them and ill email you later about it, dont let anyone else have them! And I have hooked it to manifold vacuum and it makes the problem worse at idle. And I donot have a timing light or a RPM guage, all I have is a vacuum guage, I am thinking of geting one but dont have the money for a while.... All I have is a vacuum guage, and my timing is by ear.... I will go inker with it today and see what I can do..
Ok, if you have been folowing up on my recent posts about my distributor, and that it runs fine with no vacuum advance. Then you will want to check this one out.... I noticed now that I put in the rebuilt dizzy with no vacuum advance, it starts fine in the morning or when it is cold but it is harder to start after it has been running. Hard to explaine, but its almost like my battery is just about dead? Any ideas? Could that be my starter? Anything I can check? Thanks in advance for any ideas or comments!
Damn..... More money..... Is there any easy fix if it is my solenoid, starter, coil, etc.? I was already planing on replacing my coil... But everyone talked me out of it and said to keep the one I got.... I havent tested it but I ruled it out to cause my other problems...
I agree with the timing being too far advanced. That's also why it runs worse when you hook up the advance.
As long as you're timing it by ear, with the vacuum unhooked, move the distributor counter-clockwise (retarded) until you hear the engine start to slow down and leave it there. Then hook up the advance and see how it runs.
