Ive seen pics of one someone lifted on FTE it might have been in the show us pics of your slicks thread. Looks like a 4x4 from the side. Thanks for the tip on the TFC ill keep that one tucked away for when the time comes.
Have you looked at any of the fiberglass fenders available? there arre some that the desert racers have used for years, they are very tastefully flared and radiused for long travel suspension travel. SOrry I don't have a link to them but I've looked at them in the past.
Autofab has the fenders. I have checked them out. I would like on of their hoods, but they are quite expensive. 1965-1966 F100 Offroad Fiberglass
I can add a wide pair off a lager truck or add some metal and make them look similar to the auto fab ones. Might tackle that route as i can tig and metal work them.
I removed the front axle yesterday and have 4x4 front leafs i am going to try first and see how they look under the truck.
Yeah i understand about the cost, how come when something is so cool it's always sooooo expensive LOL.With the 4x springs are you going to use the 2x shackles, the reason being is the shackle going to handle the additional side to side leverage exerted by being higher. I envy your ability to weld at that level, mine still look like a bird flew over half the time Having a 64 pre runner is going to look sweet
Wow that kind wierd as the shackles on my 64 4x are much heavier than the shackles on my 64 2x. The 4x's have zerk fittings, are much heavier and have a dog bone shape to them. But if the other ones work thats even better, it leaves time and money for other stuff. I was an iron worker 20 years ago and the bosses always wanted me to weld, I was only interested in walking iron as a connector and didn't capitalize on the oppurtunity to learn that skill.
