These old Trucks are the best Mental Maintenance available anywhere.
Please remember that if you can't get out and work on it there is still of making engine noises while pretending to drive it - I do this alot when I'm house bound

Well been down with more health problems, but I still get up every morning so I am blessed. Hoping I can get this truck done before I'm done. So when I can get back working on it expect some more questions from me! I am grateful to all of you on here and your knowledge. Thanks Randy
Hang in there Randy. Sometimes having something meaningful to do and a goal can keep you going longer than you might think. Wrench on, brother! Wrench On.
Welcome Randy. I agree with the others that this forum is good therapy! It's been nice to check in here and then go out and wrench on the truck. Lot's of stress for me lately so my prescription now calls for at least one trip to FTE daily. Some days more than one trip is needed.
Wellcome ____"TWODOGS522001" I'm on about 12 forums, yes i know i have to much time on hand. But this is the most user friendly one of them. This part of F.T.E. is the best, some of the other parts are not as friendly. I guess I,m one of the old guys, just turned 70, but I feel like a 18 year old until I crawl under the truck, then I'm ready for my afternoon nap.____JIM
Welcome Two Dogs; it was a three dog night here in Northern Arizona last night.
One of the good things about entering the Golden Age is that we no longer have the drive to fight over issues that are meaningless or to elevate ourselves by proving fools of others. Maybe it’s just that the Golden Rule comes to us later in life when we are more mature. We all bring our talents to this forum but our egos are left at our consoles.
I have found the 48 - 56 forum to be one of the most compassionate and respectful sites with which I have been engaged. Here we have helpful advice, friendly banter, and good-natured ribbing. Along with that comes genuine concern for the health and well being of our fellow members.
We all become more vulnerable as father time erodes our faculties. It’s nice to know you have a friendly place to go as a therapeutic aid against life’s troubles. I hope your truck and our friendship aids in your quest to enjoy life’s pleasures. Remember, never underestimate the power of a positive mind.
Well went out in the garage to try and finish building the engine,390, and just when I thought I was going to finish, I can't find the dip stick tube! I found the dip stick but no tube. So I got tired and go inside and have a call from my doctor. Now they think my kidneys may be shutting down! Next I'll find out I'm pregnant! Had to do blood work and a peein a jug for 24 hours. Will find out next Friday. This ole truck may beat me yet!
I am diabetic, have been for like 18 years. At least you don't have to do "pee work" and "bleed" in a jug! I hate it when they want that!
Welcome to the best forum I have ever been on! I get on here usually everyday at least twice! waiting for someone's progress report! Because I am not seeing much on mine...
Well got a burst energy and worked on the truck yesterday. Got the tie rod ends off and started on the spindles. Lucked out, got the ole angle grinder out and knocked the tops off the king pins. Then used the BFH and punch and knocked them out. I was surprised they were as easy as they were! Then a custom rod shop gave me number of a shop that will install and ream my king pins for $50.00! It was a good day!
