I´m from Denmark where nobody drives the F-series (i have no one to compare to). I have just bought a 1990 F250HD 7.3idi e4od. My first question is how is the trans surpossed shift? does anybody have a link to video with a good e4od?
I think mine shifts too soft and then slams the lockup? It is a freshly rebuild tranny, but by a danish guy....
Is there any particular things i need to keep my eyes on (weaknesses)
I will pull codes this weekend if there is any.
My tach and speedo seems fine.
The shifts seems to be the same with org wheels and 35in.
I have Tps sensor, both vss sensors( tranny and rearaxel), mlps sensor, filterkit and a shiftkit on the way from us, but i dont want to put af shiftkit in a broken trans....
The link posted above, look to the right of the screen under the search function. Menu of pages there, choose 2 or 3 digit self-test codes dependent on model year. (92 and up = 3 digit)
I have it driving now with all new sensors and it shifts perfect exept when it shifts to OD the revs shoot up 2-300 then OD then lockup. Is that okay? it feels like it is when its unlocking perhaps?
No it feels like 1-2, 2-3, then lockup then just before it shifts to OD the revs shoot up then i can feel it engaging OD and then finally lockup in OD.
Does it make sense?
