click or click click
Just a rant over a minor thing that's long bugged me. (touch screen users can tune out). Single vs double click.
On the left side of my taskbar ( or whatever it is), I launch stuff with but a single click -- and bad things often happen if I dare to use 2. On the right side (quick launch?). It's a double click.
On Google news, it's a single click to open stories -- most other places it's a double.
The list goes on -- I just can't understand the lack of consistency for something this basic.
Merry Christmas,

The left side near the start button is your Quick launch tool bar.. Quick launch therefore means One Click..
On the right side is your system tray showing system related things that are currently running.. This is not quick launch so two clicks..
Another thing that may add to the confusion is many people move the mouse when they click.. This will then require more clicks to get the link going.. A one click will appear to need two if you move the mouse..
Hope this clears it up a bit..
I don't care for a one click desktop myself, but that would remove the confusion for some.
) I would just as soon have it always work one way. I may try the folder options setting, but I suspect that does not apply to everything.
DJ, in regard to your comment on moving a mouse while clicking a link. Are you saying that all links are one click? The only time it seems to work that way for me is in Google News. Mayhap I'll be a bit more observant.
Thanks again for all of the patient attempts to educate me on this topic.

Just an observation that i have seen with many customers.. They get frustrated with the clicking and i see they move the mouse.. Usually when they are trying to double click something
