Good ol' Motorcraft. Had enough left over from couple other trucks and wanted to paint the diff cover anyway, so in it went.

Brand is kinda inconsequential, isn't it?? I mean, if you tow heavy, like me, I can see where it could be important to have something in there that can stand up to that heat buildup till that next drain/fill cycle.

But for just running around, with a sometimes burst of throttle, I don't see where there could be that much difference in the product you use.

If you cannot find a local rep or retailer look on E-bay. They have a pretty good selection of their products for sale at a decent price.

I use Redline 75-140 myself.
I have an open differential.
DO NOT use this stuff on a limited slip.

Mobil 1 Synthetic. I haven't had to add any friction modifier yet (I have a bottle in my garage in case my rear end starts to chatter).

Jeff, I never get on E-bay very often. I'll have the wife take a look. Thanks,

Chet

Chet - I believe they only sell the 75W-140 in the 5 gallon containers. I've had this 5 gallon container for about 3 years.

Your probably right Rich. At least that is what I was looking for. Guys I know do love the Shaeffer products just hard to buy except in quanity. Changing the diff,. doesn't have to be done that often so 5 gallons is a waste for me. God Bless, Chet
