F250 Fuel leak.mp4 - YouTube

Alright, here is the link to my recording of my fuel leak. Please shed some light on what this part is and my options for replacement? Can I just replace that piece thats leaking, or is there a gasket that can be replaced? Or do I have to replace the whole part?

Okay, that is your upper fuel filter bowl, and fuel pressure regulator on the front side of it. I can't be sure where the leak is, but the fuel pressure regulator cap is a good bet. Or one of the lines going in/out of it.

You can fix that leak and at the same time get the blue spring update. "blue spring" is the keyword for searching. Someone here has a good link to a procedure I'm sure. I don't have it at the moment.

I think you're on point! I had a chance to take a closer look and it appears to be exactly what you described.... Now to figure out how to fix the problem!

I found a procedure for it on here. I am taking a trip on Monday so I definitely have to get it fixed ASAP. It seems as though the fuel is dripping from the bottom of the regulator cap. So with that, is it more than likely the cap itself? I think the kit from Ford comes with the cap as well...

You can get the kit with the cap, or without it, but your local dealer is most likely to have it with the cap included. Just costs a bit more. You probably only need the keyhole shaped seal, if it is leaking around the cap. The kit comes with a new "blue" spring, which is an upgrade to improve fuel pressure to the injectors.

First thing to do would be to check that the bolts are tight. Takes a 27T torx bit. There is a chance it has just loosened up. Slim chance.

Yes that is the first thing I tried, it was no go...according to Ford, they say it was the changing to winter diesel fuels that caused the leak, lol....

Alrighty! Well it is fixed, had the dealer install the pressure kit, so $170 later I am back rolling, smh. I wish I could have done it myself, but I just did not have the time.

I can understand the time thing, especially with a trip coming up. That's not a bad price really, considering they probably get around $70 retail for the kit. I'm happy to hear it is fixed.

Well THAT was just the labor...the kit was about $83 with tax. But the important thing like you said, its fixed...and that I did not blow myself up, because I rolled around for two months like that unknowingly, smh...Thanks a lot for your help Mr. Pounds and everyone else who chimed in!

Now let's back up a few posts. If you have green antifreeze in the cooling system it is the wrong fluid and it's going to cause problems down the line.

Also, you might want to eyeball the driverside track bar bushing. I had the same leak and it kept the bushing soaked. Had a little wobble in the steering wheel at certain speeds. My bushing looked like this.

Changed just the bushing at home like this.
