I had posted a little while ago about a leak that I believed to be the water pump. After I really didnt notice any fluid missing, I decided to check under the truck see if I could pinpoint where it was coming from before taking it to the dealer.
I believe the leak (which seemed to be coolant, I am catching the fluid in a bucket to really try to see what it is)....however it seemed to be coming from a metal hose. I traced the hose from a part behind what I believe is the master cylinder, it sits against the firewall. It has a few different hoses coming out of it, this one seems to be the only one thats metal. Anyone know what fluid is running through that particular part?
Question? when you see the fluid drip on the ground, what location would that be in reference to the position of the vehicle? In other words the front, back or middle. The reason I ask, because I'm finding a leak/drip of fluid in the front of my truck when I let it sit overnite in the driveway. I looked under the truck and found what appeared to be oil leaking from what I believe to be high pressure lines (metal) possibly transmission/oil. I really have no real clue and didn't really have time to check where the lines run/connect. The actual location of the hoses are front passenger side, just pass the radiator.

Gene, it sounds like you are describing the power steering pump hoses, which also power the brake booster on these trucks, and the lines also run to a power steering cooler just behind the front bumper.

Ah ok, I was wondering why there was a coolant hose coming off that device. I would imagine the one carrying coolant goes to that cooler?
If you can't find the source of a leak, it may be because it has been leaking for a while and has made a mess over everything in the area. You might want to wash the area down, and then watch over a few days to find the origin of the leak.

Well I did see it slowly dripping out of this particular hose, and I thought I traced it back to the that power steering thing. I may have been incorrect in that...the hose, looking at it from under the truck, has a metal end then it has a mesh part that starts after the metal ends...it seems to be leaking where the metal and black mesh part meet.
I did put some antifreeze in there after the bottle was empty one day. Not a lot however, so I am not sure if thats what I am seeing or not...
Alright, NEW update, it is actually a fuel leak. I saw it clearly with my own eyes, lol. Mr. Pounds I am doing one better, I took a short video with my cell phone and I am currently uploading to YouTube. I will post a link here when its finished. I have NO IDEA what part it is, so I will definitely need assistance there.
