My dealer wants to replace the ball joints on my 2001 150 SuperCrew 4X4 Lariet. We have about 50,000 kilometers - about 30,000 miles. Does this seem right? Or is the dealer looking to make some money off the warranty? Comments would be appreciated before we replace the joint.
New to this forum and it looks very interesting. Looking forward to learning more about my Ford.
It's not really unusual for the balljoints to be worn out at 50k. It depends a lot on what the roads are like that you drive on.
I've replaced them with as few as about 30k on them and I've seen other with 150k that were still ok. And it's better to have them replaced now under warranty than after your warranty has expired
