97 4.2L hesitates

97 4.2L hesitates
I just bought a 97 F-150 4.2L w/107k miles. Everything works great except that I has a small hesition when you stop then press the gas again. I will also idle rough when it first starts in the mornings or after it has sit for awhile. Would anyone have any ideas on what might be going on. I have replaced the Air filter with a fram and also replaced the fuel filter as well. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi keithd and welcome to FTE 
Do you ever get a check engine light coming on?
It wouldn't hurt to get the truck scanned for trouble codes and see if anything shows up.
I think I'd also be inclined to check and see if the MAF sensor is dirty. If you do a search here you'll find instructions for doing that. I typed it out for someone in the last couple days here.
If I wasnt falling asleep I'd look for you but then you wouldn't have anything to do
