Hydrogen modification?

Anyone ever heard of a hydrogen kit you can add to your engine? I was reading something this morning about creating an electrolosis device that uses electricity from your alternator and battery to deprecate hydrogen & oxygen from water.

Wondering your thoughts?

I would have thought the guy demonstrating how it all worked would have been some dude wearing a white lab coat posing as a nuclear physicist explaining how he disproved the Law of Conservation of Energy. LOL

Not to make a big deal out of the discussion, or to hijack the thread but in the interest of accuracy and fairness to the product I would suggest that the "Juice with attitude" (which indeed was an EDGE product) had a reputation in the 6 liter forums of being hard on trannys.

My research into the product revealed that there are many other edge programmers for a lot of applications which do not have that reputation. If someone finds this thread and they are researching tuners they should know that the edge racing evolution works nicely on my 6.4L. They should also know that edge has quit making any products which support removing the DPF. So, after the few that are on the market now are sold the issue will be moot anyway.

you could be 100% correct , and I could be speaking out of school since I'm referring to knowledge from my 6.0 days and just assume that they haven't changed their product.I am pretty confident that unless you have custom tunes from a reputable writer then your not getting the full "potential"...

Yep, according to what I've been able to learn you are 100% correct. If you are looking for high performance, custom tunes which include tranny tunes are the only way to go.

Have a read: Hydrogen boosts Beloit -- GazetteXtra

Then have a watch:Driving technology: UW-Madison engineers help Beloit public works refine hydrogen fuel system - YouTube

Traveled to Beloit summer of 2009 met with Dan, Bret & Chris very promising but very labor intensive. The tech in the video comes in early every day to check the units in service prior to hitting the streets.
We determined that it would be to labor intensive for the City O DSM.

There are many opinions:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...7-sd-6-0l.html

I could be an advocate, but if it worked as well as we all wished it would the big three Ford GM & Chrysler would be on it like
Oprah on a canned Ham!!!

Also please have a read. Conservation of energy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then perform an energy balance on the system keeping in mind it consumes more energy to hydrolize water than the gasses produced will later release on combustion even neglecting frictional and conversion losses.

The Flux Capacitor mod works better than electrolysis, and the Doc proved it several times. The first proto produced 1.21Gigawatts of power. That equates to about 1.7million HP at the flyweel.

It'll fit on the back of the cab wall behind the sets. Here's a working prototype
