DEF on paint

Hey Gang, did a DEF refill with BlueDEF that has a spout that does not prevent back flow spillage. Anyway got quiet a bit on the body's paint under Gas/DEF take door... I wiped everything off pretty well and even got a little soap and water to the area rinsing with clean water and wiping off any residue. A day after while filling up with fuel I noticed the crystallization with inside the tank door. Does this DEF stuff break down and corrode the paint in anyway?

I always spill it. And I always hose it off after I'm done. I have DEF crystals on several pairs of shoes, gets on my pants, leaves a spot on the driveway. It all washed away. They warn us about it making it sound like it will do bad things and it might but I don't stress over it anymore. Seems to be mild stuff.

Just urea in aqueous solution. When the water evaporates the solids are left behind.

Been dealing with this stuff since the '09 model year mercedes suvs rolled out. Plenty of water will rinse the crystalization away. Never seen any paint damage. If benz customers have not peeled paint with it yet you will be fine.
