Hey everyone! I hope someone can answer my question. I have the extended warranty on my ranger and my air cond. was blowing hot air so I took it in to the local ford dealer and he said the evaporator coil was leaking and it would be $700+ to fix it but that since I only have 48k miles on my truck that ford would pay all but $250. He also said that it was not covered under my warranty. Whan I got home I looked at my warranty and it says it covers the evaporator and the next thing on the list is field coil. Does this mean that the evaporator coil is covered??? Your input would be very helpful!!!! Please respond as soon as you can!
I hope you can understand my question!
Show your warranty to the service manager, and ask him to explain to you where it says your A/C is NOT covered, since it specifically lists the parts HE says are not covered. If he still wants to charge you, then ask him for the Ford Customer Assistance number, which by the way is 1-800-392-3673. That should get his attention! Your repair should be covered by Ford, and I don't know why he'd want to charge you for it- Ford pays decent money on extended-warranty repairs.
