352 motor mount help
In my 64 f-100 is a 352 matted to a np-435 that replaced the 292 that caught fire. My problem lies in the geometry of the mounting job. The engine sits high on drivers side and kinda tilted back to the passenger side rear corner. Upon inspecting my tranny mount I found loose bolts so I disasembled the mount from the cross member to get to the bolt in question. When I did this tranny kinda went "boing" out of alignment with the crossmember. Going further and removing the crud I discoverd three holes that apear to have been drilled and re-drilled. To get the tranny back I had to pry it over rather forcefully. It apears that the former owner just cut the mount perches/crossmember ( still atached to block ) and just sat the engine in and welded the crossmember in place. I obviously need to replace this set up. The universal adapters has mentiond possibly using a 4 quart pan with they're mounts. This can't be wise with a FE's oiling draw backs . Help!!!!
