pressure and return hose on steering gear...help please
#16
You might as well nip the steel line off just above the fitting with a bolt cutter. You'll be getting new hoses - which is a good idea anyhow with a new gear. They can rot from the inside. You might get a socket over the nut then and get it off. At least you'll have more room to work.
If not, I've used a small pipe wrench on stripped tube nuts successfully.

....I'm not trying to sell tools here, but if you buy a set of those Knipex pliers or the Channel locks, you'll be amazed at how they work and wonder why you didn't buy them before. They saved my butt a few times.

Finally got them off, thanks for all yous help...you know what Im humble & man enough too admit I stupid...I was turing the wrong way the whole time! SOB..anyways they're off and about to put the new one on...Reading in Chiltons it says to fill with gear oil when done..is that correct with a P/S gear box? My truck is sometimes hard to look up on there b/c originally it was a f100 2wd 302 manual steering...the PO basically installed and modified it to a F150 4 wheel drive p/s...
