c6 tailshaft

need help bad. have new c6 trans. need to swap output shaft from other4wd trans. tore it down. how do I get it off now. please help. greasy in my shop. trying to get thinis closed back up. thanks.

You have to start at the front of the tranny, and pull the torque converter, the front pump, and then keep going, pulling all the guts out of the tranny. You can then pull the output shaft, and replace it with the shorter 4x4 shaft. I have never personally done it, but you have to basically tear the tranny completely down as if you were doing a rebuild to convert it to a 4x4 version.
