Definitely nothing to be proud of. I have IPF housings with 80/100w bulbs and a relay harness. the IPF housings have nice cut offs, and I do not get flashed at all.
Not sure I would go any further than just swapping to the newer crop of sealed beams, along with adding the relay harness. These newer sealed beams are much brighter than the original headlights, but they also draw a bit more power. As such, the relays take the load off the headlight switch, typically extending it's lifespan.
Sealed beams may be "old school technology", but the newer plastic lenses on the replaceable bulb headlights get foggy/cloudy over time, dimming the total output of light. With a sealed beam, you always start off with fresh lens.

Unless you are buying junk lights most aftermarket lights for these trucks have a glass lens.
