I have a 04 silverado SS and just ordered 8000K HID's for it. I want to order another kit for my dad's 02 banks PWSD F-250 crew SD. he has rather odd lights in the front. his are set back, not smooth like most other's. they do not take replacement bulbs, they take new headlight assemblies. I have only seen a few others like his. (looks terrible)
i wanted to convert to the cleaner style and install the HID's in them. All i can find are aftermarket ones and idk if the OEM style bulb will go into them and idk what a projector, angle eye, blacked out, crome housing will do.....
help PLEASE!!!!! <----want this type, with replacement bulbs
has those kind of headlights (not grill ones, bad pic but all i could find)
So what are you asking? Are you asking if someone makes a HID conversion kit for vehicles with fully sealed headlight assemblies? If so the answer is probaly not. I have never seen one anyway.
The XL trucks come with the old style sealed beam headlights. You can buy the parts (header panel and headlights) from Ford to convert the old H4 style bulbs to the new H13 (9008) style bulbs. You will also need a new wiring harness or I think Ford may sell an adapter. Here is a link to one wiring harness:
Once you get the H13/9008 bulb connectors you should be able to find an HID kit for it. You can search in the Super Duty And Heavy Duty forum for more information on the '05-'07 headlight conversion. You may not need the wiring harness if the HID kit includes a separate harness, but at least this would give you the headlights that accept the H13/9008 bulbs.

sorry
i need to conver the whole headlight assembly to the smoother one in the first pic. i have the headlights in the bottom picture. This way i can install HID's
HID kit has own harness
want OEM but aftermarket has many different types. would a aftermarket projector headlight assembly work?
"the part# for the 05-07 header panel is 5C3Z-8A284-AA. you will also have to change the wiring harnesses bcause the new housings use different bulbs. part # for the housing is WPT-793 or 3U2Z-14S411-FKAA (you'll need 2 of them)."
The headlights in the top picture are the '05-'07 style. The headlights in the bottom picture are H4 sealed beams found on XL trim level trucks. To replace the H4 sealed beam lights on your truck you can get the '05-'07 OEM headlight assemblies from Ford. The '05-'07 headlights take the replicable H13 bulbs (also called 9008 bulbs). You have to either modify the '99-'04 header panel to accept the '05-'07 headlights or you can order a new '05-'07 header panel.
Many people also upgrade to the '05-'07 grill and front bumper when doing the headlight swap, but it is not required. Note though, the '05-'07 grill will not fit a '99-'04 without either changing the bumper or modifying the '05-'07 grill.
You may also be able to use the XLT trim style headlights, so read this thread in the Superduty forum:
