Would the engine run if the needle on the IPR was installed bacwards? I may have done this on mine (embarassing...) but before I take it back off, thought I'd ask. I am getting some codes that may be related to that, P1209, P1282, and P1211 specifically.
Yes it will. I did it before. Don't drive or hit the go pedal because you will blow something out of the pump. ICP is probably maxed out. Mine sounded a lot different when I did that.
Just take it off and turn it around. It is easy to do. That is one of the reasons I will not mess with taking those apart and rebuilding them. The parts are just too small.
Yep, it looks like I put it in backwards. Looks like take out time. It did drive well though, I hope I didn't hurt anything. I had a similar picture printed but it wasn't zoomed and I really couldn't tell which way it pointed.
I did run the truck and other than the SES light coming on and seeming a bit sluggish, seemed to do alright. I am going to pull the IPR (as soon as it warms up, probably tomorrow p.m.) but would the engine run and the truck drive with the needle backwards? It's not leaking oil, just showing the codes-P1670, P1209, P1282, P1211, P0263 and P0266 that weren't shown before cleaning the IPR, replacing the ICP, CPS and the GPR. Seems like I'm going in the wrong direction.
