fabtech dirt logic adjustment

I just bought a 2006 F250 with a 8 inch fabtech lift kit. The rear end is lifted with leaf springs, and has air bags to allow the truck to tow a 5th wheel. The front end has a 4 link with dirt logic 4.0 coil over shocks. The problem I have is with out the air bags fully inflated the rear end is lower than the front. The front shocks are adjusted out about 2.5 inches, and I would like to lower it 1 to 1 1/2 inch. My question is will this affect the alignment of the truck. The truck drives great and I dont want to screw that up. I am new to lifted trucks. Thanks for any help

Depends entirely upon the 4 link and how it was designed. The good thing about having a 4 link, though, is that you can adjust it and fix it. So put it at the height you want and then go have it aligned. If my thinking is correct the only thing it will affect is your castor angle, depending on link lengths and design. If it is a parallel 4 link with panhard you may need to adjust the trac bar (panhard bar) as the axle may move sideways under the truck some depending on how much of an angle the bar is at (well it'll move for sure, angle and length will determine by how much and if it'll be a problem).

Anyway, blah blah blah, just put it at the height you want it at and see what happens. Don't drive around any bus loads of nuns until you know it's handling right.

I think the OP is trying to avoid getting an alignment though = bad idea.

In other news I'd LOVE to see a 150 with 8" of lift try to pull a 5th wheel.

Thanks for the replies, it is a f250 as far as towing. I am not trying to avoid getting the alignment. I just live at fort Irwin which is 30+ miles away from the closest town. I don't want it to be undriveable

a 250 would be worse IMO. I dont even know how the gooseneck would get up that high or how the trailer would even be towed. Oh well...


The alignment shouldnt make it undriveable but I dont think you want to be driving 80mph. Prolonged driving will eat up your tires pretty quick also.

I honestly don't think it would be out far enough to be dangerous. The only thing it could affect is return to center, steering effort, and tracking straight by itself down the road, all depending on how the 4 link is setup and non of it affected enough to be a serious issue.
