I've already done the door lock actuator mod on my 2000 F-250 but there is a question running on an RV Forum that I moderate as to what model years are effected with the lazy door lock syndrome... I did a search here and saw a lot of 1999 and 2000 model years and even saw some up to 2005... Is this problem still persisting in the recent model years like 2009,10,11 or is it too early to say about those years being effected???
Not sure if Ford ever corrected the problem. Time will tell.
I have swapped out 2 in my Excursion. I purchased mine from Autozone. I get a lifetime warranty on them, so if they ever wear out again, I get a new one for free.
after i rebuilt the ones in my old F250 i never had an issue at all. it really is a cheap fix. my excursion actuators are next!! it's a 2002 with 160K and are just barely starting to drag.
