Wipers don't work

i changed motor in my 87 250 a few years ago. not technically difficult but at times a pain the loosen the cowling between hood and windshield to access the nuts and cotter pins that hold the motor and connect to the wiper arms. just need to work slowly and not force things.

Doesn't seem to bad. I think I've narrowed the problem down a little as well, when I turn the switch on,the motor makes a type of clicking
Noise, not consistent, just like its trying to work. Would this mean it's likely a bad motor?
