I think when a fault is detected it throws the CEL. Then if after a certain number of key on cycles the fault is not found again, the light will go back off. Could be wrong, but I think this may be what you have seen.

Well I had the truck back for one week and the light came back on. This time I took it to the selling dealer. Same code again. The pump should be pushing 60psi and is doing 0psi. The dealer said they either didnt prime the pump or there is something causing it to fail. His bet was they didnt prime it right. Hopefully we will have answers early this week.

Wow, maybe this forum is jinxed?
I took mine in for 15K service and had CEL with P2043 code, something again with reductent temp sensor. Had to order it. Also asked them to check out rough shift 4-5 and sure enough, now looks like we need to r/r some tranny solenoids!
The battery and tires were still good though!

Something to whistle about. My report said the same.

happened to me yesterday morning on my F550 2011 "Not so Ford tough" truck. Chk engine comes on, continues to run fine, but from what Im hearing form folks with the same issue, I am sure my DEF module is jacked up too. I called the dealer and told them what code, told them I did not clear the code, [how they always say, could not duplicate condition] if its leaking, it does leave tell tale signs of the flaky white crusty type film, guess i'll be visiting them after the holidays. Just my many warranty single point of failures with this truck,, MANG!!!!!

Lets see: replaced steering damper/seat clips broke/synch software screwed up/heat core sweating profusely/cracked mirror/replaced pinon gear seal on rear end/ cracked oil pan/and my man step would not retract--so got a whole new tail gate-that took forever, had to have it painted. Funny though, the day I bought this damn thing, it broke down 10 miles away due in part to a crushed DEF line from transportation in to the dealer. I mean, quit running instantly, no code, no warnings, just deader than ****..
