My question is does any one here have a modern day snowplow on there truck. I snowplow commercial lots and residental drives, Im lookin at getting a V blade and having a mount made or modified for the truck. My biggest problem is Im running a 97 chevy 1500 and cant go any bigger on the plow side, and instead of buying a new 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck why not just run the new v blade on the dentside, which is paid for and basically all new running gear and body is restored and a 3/4 ton(74 f 250). Sorry for my life story just looking for advice or comments.
Yup, Thats basically what I would do but it would be a V blade Boss or a Fisher. I would snowplow with it in the winter, then do all the needed repairs and maintanice in the summer. Its a manual so it would save on transmission repairs, front end repairs to do the IFS of the chevy. And its a hell of alot simplier than the chevy and NO senors or electronics.
It's not anymore.
I bought the truck with the plow and took it off because I don't need it and I bought it to 4 wheel with. So the plow is just sitting there doing nothing.
I have a 76 with a western hydro turn on it . I plowed with it for 20 years ..Make sure you remove the front bumper or you will need a new one come spring ...
Alright I go buy there quite often, actually I bought the truck 3 years ago on Airline road about a mile or two from Fruitport. Have been restoring it ever since, Im off Russell road by the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Do you still plow with a 70s Ford?

My 76 is in the back , ready to plow if needed . I have a 97 powersroke for my daily. I have 4 dent sides ...
Im hoping to get mine back on the road by the spring or early summer. Hopefully in a year it will be a good reliable plow/work truck and still keep it lookin good.
