Changed my rotors and pads the other day and once I was done I noticed my ABS light was on. Figured it might turn off after I drove the truck a little ways. I was wrong. Checked to make sure we didn't damage the sensors when we did the brake job and they were fine. Any ideas on why it is on and how to get it off?
it may be the speed sensor on the rear def
or one of the front abs sensors.
when i did my ball joints the front one dead the next week?
to check jack up the front wheel unplug the abs from truck use a meter to check for volts when you turn the wheel. this may help as to witch one is bad.
Could be any of the above. Checking codes would help. I had this problem with mine a while back. It turned out to be a frayed wired running from the frame to the sensor. One of the plastic "holders" had come loose and the wire rubbed on the front tire until it rubbed nearly in two. I spliced it back together with good connectors and solved the problem. Good luck, you will find it !
