hello need some help i have a 2002 excursion with about 144000 miles problem is today my wife was driving home from work and it just quit i had the same problem about two years ago i first though it was something to do with the pats system but turned out to be a bad CPS i replaced it and bought a spare well after getting it towed home today as soon as i got home from work i replaced it with a brand new CPS and still no start went to auto zone and bought a new one and still no start any help or where to look next thanks
Try unplugging your fuel bowl heater and replace the fuse.
Not sure if the #22 on your year Ex controls the fuel bowl heating element (known to short circuit and cause no start issues) but I figure you could try it really quick while I see if I can do some searching and confirm if it does.
Do you have your manual? Can you look up fuse #22?
ok so finally got arournd to working on the excursion for whatever reason it started today i replaced the CPS last time and i know i have a bad GPCM my question to all you fine folks in ford land is this can the GPCM short out and cause the truck not to start and make it blow fuse #22 .
i know the GPCM is bad because its giveing my a trouble code for it
thank you in advance and happy holidays
