25.00 +shipping reburn

5575.00
unkonwns.. will the damn thing make it there, it is only slipping 2nd to third, I should only have to worry about that 2 times, when I leave, when I fill up on my way down again..
Do those two coolers have too much restriction? Is that limiting lube flow to the rear of the trans?
I've been meaning to post about this. I noticed I have higher running temps in the winter. Still within range but if I drive in town, no change. Trans will not even register the 100 degree min on the gauge. Freeway at 70mph is normal but if I push it to 80mph the temp goes up. Summer driving is normal at any speed. Sound possible the fluid is getting too cool in the winter? I was thinking of adding a custom cardboard grill cover for test purposes. BTW, I have replaced the bypass on the trans already.
Sorry Pat, don't mean to hijack. But I too noticed a 2nd to 3rd hiccup the other day too when trans was cold. Once warmed up it was ok.
Thanks for doing the $$ math on the trans. I'd rather spend a few days driving VS under the truck if possible.
Now.. the 4R100HD from ford would come in at 3000.00.. 300 install..3 year unlimited warranty..
If I was close, I would haul you and your truck to BTS.
Think about what Les said about the chip and warranty. I'm sure if you decide to get rid of your truck, someone would buy the BTS from you and trade them out.
I would try to get to BTS and watch Brian do his work on the trans.

One of the things that I loved with Brian at BTS is that he wanted the chip installed when he rebuilt my transmission so I would know the way that it would shift. The truck had a certain 'feel' that I liked with the chip and he said he could make that. I took the truck for a test drive and I said that it was not shifting the way that I had 'liked' it. He said 'discribe' to him what I wanted and I did. He said, "I can get that 'feel' for you, I can a adjust the transmission a thousand different ways."... We went back to his shop and he dropped the pan and pulled out the shift plate and put in another one in less than 5 minutes. We then went for a test drive and man was that sweet.
If you can, have him rebuild your tranny while you are there and he will tweek any adjustments to your satisfaction right then, right there....
With OEM you get what you get..... no after install 'adjustments' of shift plates or personal consaltation. no.... oh your warrenty is up and you want some advice.... NO 1,000 Dollar High proformance TC.....
That TC makes the BTS and OEM the 1,000 dollar difference....

Believe me when I say that Torque convertor is weighing heavly on my decision..
Did he want the chip done before you brought the trans to him then??
