I just deleted my dpf with the dpf-r from extremediesel.com. I currently run the 6 Banks six gun tuner with the IQ. I've only been deleted a couple days but so far it's worked great. Truck's egt's run a good 100 degrees cooler at 60mph and all around than they did with the dpf.

I have not heard good results with edge products on these trucks , idk if they have changed but the egde use to only tune the engine and nothing on the trans side. IMO if your not going to stay at stock hp id atleast research a tuner that will both tune the engine PCM and the trans PCM for a more balance package.

Truck stock got 9 in town and 11 hwy and 7 towing around 25K. I now run a 210 DPF and EGR delete tune and get 13.5 in town 16.5 HWY and 8.5 towing around 25K which i dont think is all that bad consider im running 3.73 gears and 35" tires with a 4.5" lift.

I think the Edge with the bad reputation is the "juice with attitude". There is a good bit of info on it in the 6.0L forum about it eating trannies. The evolution does not seem to be a problem. I am running the racing evolution with 5000 miles +/- so far no problems. I run only on setting 1, about half my mileage is towing right at the combined vehicle limit (26000). Deleted, No problems. With a 4.30 rear axle I got 10 mpg towing through two fill ups on my trip down to florida from ATL. Got the same on a couple runs from ATL over to Ms and Ar. All these runs are pretty level but I'm happy with that mileage. Best I'm able to tell, deleting the DPF gained me around 1 mpg towing. I don't have enough data yet for an reading on non-towing mileage but it looks like maybe a 1 to 2 mpg gain. These MPG figures are based on hand calculated very careful tests. I would advise that if any of these claims above are using the computer readout they are not valid. Based on feedback from many on this forum the computer read out on the 6.4L is not accurate.

I also have the Edge 85700 CTS Race tuner. Prior to installing that tuner, I had a regular Edge 85200 tuner, which does not allow DPF delete. Milage was about 12.5 on my daily 50 mile commute. I never towed while the regular edge was installed. I decided to delete the DPF, so I got the edge race tuner. On power level 1 (with the DPF still installed) my daily commute mileage went up to 14.5 (all hand calculated) The DPF and new tune went in last week, and have only seen about 1 MPG improvement. Next week, I'm towing a light trailer (5000 Lb) on a 1200 mile round trip, mostly freeway, so I'm anxious to see where the mileage will be. Last summer (completely stock truck) I was getting 9 MPG towing my 10000 lb toy hauler, so looking for some improvements there too. Going to take a while to get the MPG sorted and calculated, as the Titan 51 gallon tank lets me go 700 miles between fuel stops.

When I talked with edge teckies they said tow on setting 2 for best results. I'm right at max weight and was a little apprehensive about it but I did one 300 mile run from central mississippi to ATL. Didn't notice much difference except truck had great power. Going through the rolling hills east of Birmingham I just left the truck in cruise set at 60 MPH. I don't think it ever down shifted. I did note that on that run I got 9.5 vs 10.0 on the other three towing runs I've made. I monitor the EGTs and have not come close deleted to the temps I had during regens before I deleted. I think you have the nice color screen, mine is the older black on grey. I got lots of crap when I bought it used and talked about it on here. But I did my home work and thought it would do what I wanted and so far so good. I have to confess though that I thought I could run in stock mode deleted, but mine won't do that.

StanleyZ, I am quite happy with the Edge products. It even has Turbo timer! As you know, they discontinued making the 'Race' products, so when I decided to dump the DPF & Cat, I searched far and wide for a CTS Race 85700. There were 20 on eBay, but no one actually had any. I finally found one thru Amazon, believe it or not, from a dealer called eTrailer, at a very reasonable price. The tech at Edge, when I got my unlock code, told me that there are still 50+ units out there in dealers hands (or at least that's how many serial numbers have not had an unlock code sent) I've been doing my daily driving on power level 1 for the last week or so, but I'm going to go to 2 for next weeks trip. You mentioned that 'stock' does not give you the option of DPF delete, which makes sense, but my question would be what if you programmed it back to stock (for a dealer trip, for example) without the DPF installed, what would happen? With the pressures and EGT so low, it probably wouldn't go into a regen, especially for a very short trip.

I wouldn't try that if I were you. After I deleted the DPF and ran some on level 1, I decided I would try going to stock. I called up the menu and reset the power level to stock. The DPF was not on the truck. I backed out on my shop and down a short driveway. As I turned up the street the "exhaust cleaning" alarm went off on the edge and I started smelling a lot of diesel. I shut the truck down and changed the setting back to level 1 DPF deleted, and everything was fine. But I must admit it scared my mule there for a minute. I'm pretty sure that the only way to return to stock is to re-install the DPF and then set the edge to "return to stock". Let us know how you make out on setting 2. I couldn't tell a lot of difference towing in it.

Yup, that's a bummer! I was going to sell my DPF and Cat, but I think I'll just hang on to them a while. The trailer I'm pulling on my 1200 mile trip next week is only 5000 Lb. and it will weigh about the same coming back, so maybe I'll try 1 going down, and 2 coming back. I'll let u know about power and mileage. I pulled my 10000 lb toy hauler about 5000 miles last summer when the truck was completely stock, and had no problems with power, even in the mountains, just 9 MPG, and a lot of re-gens.

Same here, two years ago I towed mine (17L lbs or so) all over the rockies. I had plenty of power. But one Blackstone report came back with 6% oil dilution. I tried maintaining the oil with a radical oil maintainence program. It worked but was a lot of work. When the Edge came available at a good price I decided to go the next step. A couple weeks ago I posted my first blackstone report after the delete on here. It was outstanding and convinced me that deleting was the best thing to do for the engine. Your edge is a later model and may work on stock with the DPF off. If I were you though I would ask the Edge teckies before I tried it.

OK, the round trip was 1280 miles. The trailer weighed 6200 going down and 7200 coming back. We pushed it pretty hard, running 75 to 85 all the way down and back. Although this was a lighter load than my toyhauler, we averaged 14.1 MPG for the trip. (90.7 gallons) Quite an improvement without the DPF. I tried Power Level 1, and switched to 2 on the way back, with no significant differences. I'm happy.....
