73, those are 4'' gas s/d springs. they are rated at 4'' for the gas trucks and 2'' for the diesel, don't ask me why, i know there can't be that big of a weight difference. don't know about his battery, but iirc, kris wants to keep the radiator up front.
Kris, one more thing to think about is an aluminum box to cover the motor. You will thank me later when you don't have to scrape a couple of inches of mud off the dizzy anymore.
I realized about 2.762 seconds after welding both ends of the chains that I made a mistake. It was late in the day and I had been drunk for 8 days straight. The original plan was little gas shocks like from a rear hatch of a car or suv but the thing is so light I don't need it. I'm going to cut a link out and put some clips in. I want the whole front clip to be removable when I pull the 2 5/8" clevis'.
Battery is going in the bed. Radiator will bolt into the frame I built. I WILL NOT put a radiator in the bed.
Yes I know the tie rod is bent. Its been bent and getting worse for several years.
The springs are 4" lift gas SD springs. The truck isn't street driven anymore but I'm hoping for a little smoother ride in the pits.
Not enough vacuum for power brakes. Had a 350 booster and mc before and it was basically manual brakes. New cam will produce even less vacuum so that's what I've got. Don't need hydroboost.
On my old 74 E300 I swapped out a shot vac booster for a manual master and it stopped way better with the manual on than it did when the booster still worked.
