snapped leaf spring.HELP

Today while replacing the rear leaf spring brackets i was pulling out the bolt that goes through the leaf spring and noticed that the part of the leaf spring that wraps around the bushing snaped off some time today so the leaf is held on by the trucks weight... so can i just weld that leaf piece back on or should i start looking for new ones. that being said what to you guys recommend for rear leafs its a 96 4x4 f350 its got the 5 pack with helper . i dont want to get ones with smaller arch than it has or ones that sag bad with weight.
