timming set for 390

my 74 f250 390 4bbl what is the correct ignition timming for it? I tried to check online also in my shop manual and nothing. My emissions sticker that is supposed to be under the hood is of course "MIA" so any help on this would be great thank you.

6 is factory... shoot for 8-12 BTDC

bullitt is correct. but, tried that 6* and mine was a dog so moved it to 10 and it would ping and rattle at speed even with 93 supper. so i talked with a ford duraspark nut he helped me fix my problem . my dist had dual vac advance switch to singel then opend the dist up some one had changed the spring in the mec advance to really light ones and the reluctor was a in the 18L slot witch means it would advance really fast and it would have 36* with out any initial advance. so replaced it with an 13L and bushed it to only give 20* . got a MR GASKIT spring kit and played with differnt combos. now mine is set at 16* initial and only have 36* at 3200 played with vacume to get no ping at light accell . was geting 11 mph now get 13 and can run 87 oct reg with no ping and it has POWER.
