I have a 78 F150, with a 390. What do I set the timing at ? I want performance, it does have electronic ignition.

How much "performance" you'll get from your 390 will depend on what year the engine is. Later 390's were detuned for emissions. Especially those after '73. Ford dropped the compression ratio also.

Wmanning, I didn’t know 390’s were still available in ’78. Does it match the emissions decal under the hood, the engine code on the door tag and the VIN? Just curious.

I have a Mallory Unlilte ignition on my 390, and I believe I have mine set at 12 degrees.

With the Unilite I think that's about right. Never hurts to play around a little though.
