RV generators are set up like that. The down side is that most RV generators (Onans anyways) are electric ignition rather than magneto ignition, so the setup wouldn't work properly on a Briggs. If you can chance across a newer setup from one with a Briggs engine, it should work.
Interesting idea, I'll see what I can research. It has a 992cc v-twin engine, and if I'm not mistaken, a variant of that is used on the NG/LP whole-house generators which are fully automatic and don't have a choke lever.
I can control the choke, that's not a big deal, I was just dreading the idea of automating a mechanical choke with a servo as that's more complicated than a simple on/off type of control.
