Replace Serpentine belt

What is the proper way to do this?

I usuallyy use a crowbar but suspect the proper way is to torque the tensioner with a 3/8 rachet?

Had surgery and can only use one arm so at a disadvantage to use the crowbar method

i use a long breaker bar going to be tuff with one arm without any help i do it by myself but never tried with one arm

Was thinking of strapping rubber band to belt and when I pull up the rubber band pulls the belt off.

The real trick is putting it back on ... gonna need some help with gettin it back on.

yeah i was thinking you could strap the bar to get it off and back on but thats going to be tough as well no fun when you can't use something like that drives me crazy!! but i try anyway and make things worse

Route the belt as shown below. Then do your thing with the breaker bar and slip the belt under the flat / smooth upper idler.
