Thanks for the work, Encho!

Reps sent.

I added this to our Sticky; even though your write-up says for 87-96 I believe the steering boxes have been unchanged for decades and it should apply to 80-86, too.

As a matter of fact, the kit said it would fit any Ford steering boxes in big cars and light trucks made from 1964 on (i guess up to 1997). Yet i didn't want to exagerate so i only stated it up for the period-time i was sure about.

Yup. If you ask the guy at the 'yard to let you look at his Hollander, you'll see that all from 80-96 fit, as do many Explorers and other vehicles. If they're not the same internally, they are on the outside.

The biggest difference on the older ones is the overall length and the fact it works the opposite way, internals are basically the same.

I think they're the same all the way up to the early 1970s....?

Chris, my 77 F150 had a real long pitman shaft and was a rear steer rather than a front steer. The 4wd trucks were front steer and may have had Saginaw boxes in those days. I was going to try to fit one of the older 4wd setups on my 58 and install a 390 in it.
