Just made a 70 mile run up the Expressway at 65-70 mph and the Electric fan and headers/glass packs brought me from just over 9 mpg to 12.4 with a noticeable increase in pulling power.
302, Motorcraft 2100 2bl, C4 auto, I think the tires are 225-65-15. Came off a Blazer. Have an Eddy 4 bl intake and am trying to decide on an affordable carb. Fan is from a 90's T-bird.
In theory it can, as the fan is no longer hooked directly to the engine, but ran from the electrical power made by the alterntor, which is more efficient.
I have never converted something, with before and after numbers, so I cannot tell you one way or the other.
It's always interesting to sometimes hear comments in regards to electric fans and how, since they rely on the alternator they somehow sap more power...

You might want to adapt a Q-Jet for MPG's -- Brought my 390 Interceptor '76 F-150 4x4, C-6, Np 205, 4.10, 33's, Ram Air, right up to 13 from 8.... And that's winding it up 70 to 75...... ---- Here's a nice right up thread --- https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-a-300-i6.html
Bullitt, I had to read that twice, for some reason I thought you were going the other way with it at first....
Though I wonder how that translates to a stock engine? I know my 302 doesn`t exactly have 450 hp
