I ran an e-fan on my Aerostar. It gives me a noticeable MPG gain on the highway, largely because it isn't needed at speed. If you are installing one just for MPG's your money is better spent on a tuner.
Do you even know what fan you would run? I'll tell you right now this is going to cost you a bit, unless you get lucky and can find the good parts inexpensively. You need a fan that will move at least 3,000 CFM, and you will need a fan controller. Unless you buy a direct fit kit, you will need to fabricate or modify the brackets to work. All said and done, expect to pay between $350 - $600. That will take an awful lot of driving to recoupe a 1 mpg increase.
I bought a fan on ebay for the 4.0 ltr ranger I have in the box I have a controler mounting brakets and a temp probe for the rad. and everything I need for it to work- 219.shiped
